Finding Your Purpose

Dharma is a concept that can be boiled down to a combination of three things: Passion, expertise, and usefulness. When we live our dharma, we feel fulfilled.

You don’t need to be anyone or anything else. Your job or even your ideal job may require you to have skills or an outlook that you don’t have. By forcing yourself into that role, you’re making yourself feel bad. But your dharma is already within you. It represents what you most value. Understanding dharma also frees you from envy and the need to be more than you are.

It may take time to discover your dharma, but when you do, don’t be afraid if you think you’ve found the wrong one. We make mistakes and we can stand on to learn from them. But once you’ve hit gold, never let it go.
